Known for his distinctive voice and engaging presence, Hal Jay played the role of the radio announcer for WBAP radio at the championship game. He has been an integral part of the WBAP family for over four decades, contributing to the station’s success and earning a place in the Texas Radio Hall of Fame.
In 2023, Hal Jay faced a life-changing experience when he underwent a heart transplant. His resilience and positive spirit during recovery captured the hearts of listeners. After weeks of hospitalization, Hal triumphantly returned to the airwaves, resuming his role as a beloved radio host on WBAP.
